Re: Sims 3 won't open: Alder Lake (Intel 12th-gen) CPU

SOLVED! Intel 14Th gen 14600KF

Hi everyone. So i finally solved my problem of the sims 3 not running after cliking on play in the launcher (or having a warning in the EAapp saying the game is already running) .

I don't excalty know which things made it worked but here is the full things i did :

- I completly formated my computer and made a full windows 11 pro reinstall , and created a local admin account.

- I installed all the dirvers for my desktop one by one from the asus website( because my motherboard is an asus rog B760), BUT I DID NOT install asus armory create. ( i noticed a regular error from that software before the reinstal)

- I updated all the drivers with the free software: SDI (Snappy Driver Installer).

- Once all the drivers installed and updated, i downloaded the EAapp.

- I downloaded and installed the old directX version from the microsoft website (as linked somewhere in this thread)

- I download all my sims 3 games and dlc throught the EAapp normally BUT I CHANGED THE installation folder to C:\games\sims3.

- When i first launched the game, windows11 warned me the .net framework wasn't installed. so it did instal it all by itself, by clicking on continue in the popup window (and this time it completed the installation without any error).

- Everytime i want to play SIMS3 I Have to set the EAapp affinity on the core 0 of my processor with the task manager (so it runs the sims3 launcher and the TS3.exe on core 0 by default)

- AND miracle the game launched!! I just have to reset the processor affinity on all cores once the game in launch!

So if anyone also have that problem, and the scipt, task manager, and the alderlake patch don't work. Maybe you can consider, Install the sims3game and DLC to a folder on the root of your hard drive ( like: C:\games\sims3 ). not installing the Asus armory create (or remove it from your computer first to chek). Try update your INTEL drivers with SDI software . Try reinstal the .net framework from the winodws 11 features, and finally reinstal windows to 0 ( by fully wipe the hard drive and then booting on the windows official iso).

Good game and luck to everyone wishing to play Sims3 on modern computers.
