Re: Sims 3 won't recongize my gtx 1650

@lamisha2009  The 1650 is a GTX card, not RTX, so if the tool you ran was only for RTX cards, it wouldn't help.

Do you run the game through Origin?  If so, please repair it: open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 3 icon, and select Repair.  This will restore the original .sgr files, in addition to any others that have been changed or removed.  Then try to launch your game and let me know whether it works.

I can help you get your graphics card recognized, if you want.  Just let me know, and provide a new deviceconfig if you can get one that isn't blank.

Even though the folder says RTX it still has my graphic card in the file and I just change the graphic card & rules file. When i repaired the game  it gave me a new graphic rules wit the one i made & the new changed graphic card. My game actually didn't crash and i was able to play without crashing. With out GeForce optimized. Day 2 i had to change it up and eventually was able to play without crashing. I have grandkids. But if i shut off the computer its like i have to do the process from start. I just want to be able to launch my game daily without crashing & possible damaging my graphic cards

@lamisha2009  The only way your graphics card might be in danger is if you're running the game without a framerate limiter.  Sims 3 doesn't cap framerates—literally, the number of frames per second that the card renders—on its own, and your card is powerful enough to generate several hundred per second even with all packs installed.  I can help with this, but please let me know whether you play in fullscreen or windowed mode, or both.

If you want to get your card recognized manually, the instructions are the same as before.  This doesn't usually help with crashing though.

Please also let me know what process you have to do after restarting your computer to make the game work.

I always play in Fullscreen. When i turn my computer on & log into origin. I then launch the game, check the graphic files. I have the original games rules plus the new game rules file wit the new graphic card as well. Then i relaunch the game & once the game goes into the  main menu i check my options & make sure my settings are changed. Then i play without any problems at all. No crashing or anything. But in my deviceconfi its still 0-0 in found & match.

@lamisha2009  Please remove the new .sgr files, both graphicscards and graphicsrules if you've edited or replaced them, or else repair the game again.  I want to know what happens when you don't change those files.

And I keep repeating myself, but I absolutely need to know what kind of in-game framerates you're getting.  I can't help you unless you tell me.

    • Hit control-shift-C
    • Write fps on , and enter
    • Look for the number in the upper right corner of the screen
    • Let me know how high the number gets

fps on abort no content unknown error. That's what i get when i do what you ask for the fps (framerates.)

When i do not change the files in the game the game crashes within maybe 20-35 mins of play time.

@lamisha2009  Do you play through Origin?  If so, enable the fps counter there.  Hover over your username, select Application Settings, then the Origin in-game header, and choose a corner where you want the fps to show.
