All sorted now. It was apparently an internal issue with the game files, whether that’s the same as the permissions not being carried over - I’m not sure. But the advisor for ea help (Raman) was very helpful.

    If you are missing DLC and content from the Sims 3. You have to go on the Sims 3 store under purchase history and re download everything you bought. I hope this helps.

    @beccalouise986 hi! im having the exact same issue right now and ive been trying to contact ea support for a couple days and nothing seems to be working.. can you do a rundown on what Raman told you?
