Re: The Sims 3 64-bit for Mac: New Disc Codes

@NeonGreenCow  You couldn't install the game via disc.  But you could certainly register the disc codes in Origin, and they would work just like packs you bought directly from Origin (unless the codes have been used already).

It's possible that registering the discs would only give you the 32-bit version of the respective packs, but in that case, you could contact EA customer support and ask that the "entitlements," as they're called, be added for the 64-bit version as well.

Hi! So I kinda have a problem installing my expansion packs on my new Macbook.
I have all the expansion packs on discs, and I get how you have to insert the code on Origin to install them, but they don't install on the 64-bit version of the Sims 3, only the original one. But I can't download the expansion packs on the original one, because my Macbook is really new and needs the 64-bit version.

When I click on the 64-bit version Sims 3, I can see all the expansion packs I have and they are marked as 'unlocked', but I can't seem to install them.
I don't know if you get what I'm trying to say, but could you maybe explain to me how I can install my expansion packs on the 64-bit game? I'm sorry if I'm being unclear. 🙂

@claravncr  I know exactly what you're talking about, and it's a common issue.  You'll need to contact EA customer support and request that the "entitlements," as they're called, for your packs be added to the 64-bit version of Sims 3.  If the first support rep you talk to doesn't understand or can't help, feel free to request a supervisor.

Thank you so much. Is it a problem that I'm from Europe? Or can I still contact them?

@claravncr  You can absolutely contact them from pretty much anywhere.  A phone call might be expensive, but live chat is free.  If you're not getting the option you want, you can change your location, in the upper right corner of the browser window, to U.S. or U.K.; live chat should be open at all times, or close enough.

Thank you so much! One last question, before I send them a message, do I have to install all the expansion packs I want first? So that they can see I have them and that I'm not lying?

@claravncr  You wouldn't be able to install the disc copies anyway, so there's not much point in trying.  The fact that the packs show as unlocked in the 64-bit version, and would be downloadable in the 32-bit version if you could install it, is proof enough.
