SIMS 3 my sim wont audition & mailbox isn’t working

i have the sims 3 showtime expansion pack and everytime i try to audition for a gig (my sim is a singer) the game action cancels out. also when i try any interaction with my mail box it also glitches...

My sim is halfway to level 10 in the singer career and i was playing fine before i took a little break. I've repaired and uninstalled the game 4 times and still have this issue.
