There's a strange bug that happens when you lock the front door to everyone but your household. It keeps your sims and pets from exiting the home, they will just cancel the queue.
My sim was also unable to interact with ANY bed (even deleting beds, single and double, trying them outside/inside, and resetting the sim). As soon as I would choose anything, the queue would disapear. It also seems to make pets behave strangely. Their free will was gone, it seems. I had to direct them to do everything (pee, eat, scratch) until unlocking the door.
