I have a 1 sim fam and I wanted her to adopt a chld because she just cant seem to get with anyone. I bought a pc, desk and chair, but the option doesn't show up under the household tab on the pc.
Is this a bug? or am I doing it wrong?
I found out what was the problem. I have my house on my retail lot and you apparently need to do it on your homelot.
Mods ? Do you have enough money ?
I tested it without mods and I do have the money. But the option isn't showing up, so even if I did not have enough money I asume it would be there, but grayed out.
Could it be that you need two sims to adopt? Because that seems weird to me, but it could be posible.

What do you mean by homelot? I have this problem and I don't have access to the first house my sim was born in because someone else lives there.

This thread is 7 years old, it's unlikely to get a response form the OP now. Could you check out this bug report and see it matches your issue: "Off Grid Living: Can't adopt pet from phone"? If not, please go ahead and create a new bug report and share as much information as you can about what you're experiencing to get the ball rolling on that.
