11 years ago[ARCHIVE] Floor tiles change rotation
When I place the floor on my house and I close the game or go to another lot, some floor tiles change its rotation. It usually happens to floor tiles near walls.
I have definitely experienced this issue. In my case, the floor tiles were all located outside. This image shows how I set them up, and this image shows how the game changed them. No matter how many times, I tried deleting and recreating them, this always occurred in certain areas of the lot.
Hi, I've had this issue too. With the pattern in the picture, the gray brick with red brick trim on one side (I made a house once with that pattern and it didn't keep the orientation of the tiles. It was extremely annoying). This keeps happening in my current house in Oasis Springs, the 50x50 lot. Mainly I have the issue with wood patterns that change whenever I return to the house after going to Manage Worlds or quitting (and I save every time, but it keeps doing this). I keep changing it back to how I want but it keeps reverting back. Mainly a big chunk of floor will be changed orientation and the wood pattern goes the other way. I think it may be because I made an interesting pattern in the floor using the wood pattern, much like how you made the pattern in the picture. It occurs on my main floor in my living room and dining room, which are pretty large and that's on the ground floor, where I tried to do the pattern. It also occurred in almost every other room of the house but after fixing those a few times, those have kept the correct orientation. It now just does it on the first floor and ground floor in select rooms for some reason.
This is quite annoying because this house is on the gallery and I don't want others to experience the annoyances of this issue, but I also want others to enjoy my work. This seems like a very simple fix.

I thought this might have been addressed in the 2/4/16 patch because when I placed my original test case, my Rock N Roll House, on the Affluista Mansion lot (where it was originally built), for the first time ever, all of the floor tiles were placed properly:
However, the excitement was short-lived because when I placed the home on other lots in the world, the floor tiles glitched out:
It seems like the devs may have done something to the Affluista Mansion lot that has improved the situation for my floor tiles there, but since it obviously doesn't carry over to other lots, I think that it was just a coincidence and floor tiles are still prone to having their orientation switched.
Hi @BryonyRae,
Our QA team is interested in knowing the following:
- Which lots this issue is occurring on in your game?
- Are you using CC or mods?
Also could you provide us with a save file showing the issue?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, @EA_Zoe.
- I did not exhaustively test every lot in the game, but I did just run through several of them, and the orientations were incorrect on all of them.
- No CC, no mods
Save file here. If you look at the RnR House placed on Affluista Mansion, where I originally built it, you should see the floor tiles as they were meant to appear (note my screen shot in a prior post). On all the other lots where I placed it (in some cases, partially placed it due to smaller lot sizes), you will see the orientations change. I placed it on several different lots in Oasis Springs, the 50x50 lots in Willow Creek, the 64x64 lots in Windenburg, the 40x30 in Magnolia Springs, and the 50x40 in Newcrest. After the fact (not shown in the save), I also tried the 50x50 in Granite Falls. All had incorrect tile orientations.
