Thanks! I downloaded your ranch and household and placed them on the 64x64 Lot in Chestnut Ridge and in Windenburg and tested on my Intel Mac and my M1 MacBook Air (which will be the same spec as your Mac mini) reproducing the steps in your second post with placing trees and a room. The game is still working normally for me. I let it run for around 20 real time minutes on each without any interference from me. I tested in a clean Sims 4 folder. Could you try the same?
Hey, I tried building on the lot with a clean Sims 4 folder and unfortunately the same problem is still happening for me. I started by building a room on the lot and then if I remember right I had also deleted two walls that were inside of the house in order to open up a room and this is when the bug started happening (if I try to make any other changes to my build like building a room or placing down an object like a tree they just disappear). I would suggest you try replicating the actions I described in my first post in the "How can we find the bug ourselves?" part if you haven't tried this, because in the second post I made I was just describing what happens once the bug is occurring. I think once or twice after the first time I experienced this bug it took a while of building rooms, changing wall heights, placing stairs, placing platforms, etc. before the bug was triggered again, but most times the bug occurred almost immediately after I started building.
By the way, when using my original Sims 4 folder I tested building on a different lot in the same save file and I was able to build a whole retail store with no issues, so the problem seems to only occur on my Horse Ranch build for some reason. So this is kind of good news, but I still would really like to get this problem resolved if possible so that I will not have to rebuild a whole new house on the same 64x64 lot from scratch and just hope that the bug doesn't start happening again.

I played around with the lot and still did not experience the issue you're having. It must be a very specific trigger for it to happen. Your lot was way smoother on my MacBook Air (2020 M1 8-core CPU, 7-core GPU, 16-core neural engine, 8GB unified memory, macOS 14.1) than on my iMac (2019 27", 3.6GHz i9 8-core CPU, 8GB AMD Radeon Pro 580X GPU, 32GB RAM macOS 13.4). I attribute that to the amazing Apple silicon chips though. Intel feels so clunky now 🙂
Moving your thread to the Game issues forum for further help. I don't believe this is a Mac specific issue. Your Macs are more than capable of running the game well. If it happened on one and not the other I would say it may be a localised issue but both? No. Although, did you happen to use Migration Assistant when you set up your MBA?It would really help if you could get that video up and running to show the problem. Maybe upload to YouTube unlisted and post the link here?

I did use Migration Assistant, but that was to transfer my stuff from a much older laptop (so not the MacMini M1) which I had never used when building the Horse Ranch house.
I uploaded my video showing the bug occurring to YouTube and I added a description to it explaining what is happening during the video. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/gyLHiQVC4EA

If you delete that platform, can you then place a tree that doesn't disappear and a room?
Try a game repair too. - vanillabean32 years agoNew Traveler
When I had tried to delete the platform while the bug was happening, the game didn't let me delete it (the video shows me doing this) and I attempted to draw a room after doing this in the same video and the room did not appear. If I were to try to save and quit my game the game would keep saving forever, so this is why I always force quit my game now as soon as the bug starts happening. Once I reopened the game and returned to build mode, the platform was gone because I had not saved my game before placing the platform, and I was able to place trees and anything else like normal, but every time I attempt to build a room, place a platform, place stairs, change a wall height or something similar there is a really good chance (not 100% chance) that the bug will be triggered again, so I've basically been saving my game every time I attempt to do something like this to not risk losing the progress I made.
I tried repairing my game to see if that fixed it before I ever reported the bug on this website, and unfortunately this did not work. But I suppose it doesn't hurt to try doing this again.

You could also try moving your Sims 4 folder to another location so a new one is created then load the game and place the lot and household from the gallery like I did? - vanillabean32 years agoNew Traveler
What you are describing here is exactly what I did when you told me to to see if the issue still happened with a clean Sims 4 folder. When I did this I was still having the same problem.

You’re not alone it seems and I have a very old memory of items not being able to be placed years ago but can’t confidently remember when or how I fixed it. I think I probably did a super repair or it somehow rectified itself. Try the super repair on your Mac and see if it helps https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M815
