Further to my report of not being able to adopt in one save (pet never was added to my household and I tried two different times in that family), I again tried to adopt a dog in another save and while I was initially successful, the pet was removed from my household right before the adoption agent left (the dog was initially added to my family and then got taken away even though it was showing as their needs were green). FYI, I got a message saying 'Delilah was given up for adoption and take away by adoption services'
INFORMATION NEEDED
Did you start a new save or is it a pre-patch save ? It occurred on a pre patch save, but I was also successful adopting in another pre patch save as mentioned in a previous post by me.
Are you living in a house or apartment ? House
What interaction did you do before fully adopting the puppy/dog ? I did a friendly introduction and some other friendly interactions, including feeding the puppy a treat.
Did you switch game mode while the adoption was running (for example go to build mode) ? I didn't until after Delilah was taken.
Have you ever used mods/cc with that save game ? Yes, MCC for all three saves, the one I was successful with and the other two I wasn't, however, I currently don't have it in my game as I took it out before the Nov 7 patch and not added the updated version back in. I've also cleared my game cache and repaired frequently (after each patch and after installing Cats and Dogs). I also did a factory reset of my game prior to this happening. (I'm on Windows 10, my game is fully updated and I have all the packs)
Are there any tight spaces involved on your lot ? No (I have a video going up tomorrow that shows exactly what happened and shows the space involved)
Do you have the issue that the carrier didn't go away or also that the pet wasn't added to your household ? The carrier did leave with the adoption person.
How many times did you try ? Did you get the issue each time ? Only the one time in this save (I tried again but was too slow getting all the family members to meet the pets so the evaluation period ended the second time before I even attempted to adopt.
If you have any last Exception files from around the time when it happened, please attach them. I checked and didn't notice any last exception reports this time (I did notice and attach them last time).
Anything else that comes to mind ? 1) Just like my other save where I was unsuccessful adopting, one of my sims is pregnant (alien abduction; I found out he was pregnant shortly afterwards) and there are 4 sims in the house. There was also a welcome wagon going on while I was trying to adopt. No doors to the house were locked.
