[ARCHIVED] Children won't inherit their parents nose (bug in genetics)

Get To Work, Cats & Dogs, Get Famous, Snowy Escape, Seasons, Get Together, City Living, Island Living, Discover University, Realm Of Magic, StrangerVille, Vampires, Parenthood, Backyard Stuff, Paranormal, Laundry Day, Tiny Living, Nifty Knitting, Movie Hangout.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By going into CAS and using the genetic tool to randomise the selected sim's child.
What happens when the bug occurs? The child won't actually inherit their 'modified' parents' nose, just the default version of it.
What do you expect to see? The child/sim actually inheriting their parents' nose and not the untouched/default version of it.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Hi there, there's already another topic about this issue but given that it hasn't been active for months (except for my recent reply), I feel the need to open another one in the hope that it will get enough attention given that I have this issue since at least the start of this year and as legacy player I find it to be game-breaking and it's really bothering me. I do use Mods & CC, by the way, but removing them & reparing the game didn't help; I'd go as far as to re-install the game except I want to be sure that it's actually uncommon instead of a bug that other players might just not have noticied or talking much about it. I have attached two files to also give a visual representation of the bug (blue haired sim being the mom, and the other one the randomised child).

Updated the game today and as expected, this bug is still going strong and there's no fix even tho it's been months. At this point it seems like it's never gonna get fixed but hopefully I'm wrong! Genetics is essential to me as a legacy player and the bug is just putting me off to continue my gameplay. 

@FloralGhost97They didn’t fix this bug in the latest patch. I don’t think they’ve even looked into this one yet. They haven’t even fixed the Alien face bug that’s been reported years ago. It sucks for us legacy players.

It's been almost or a full year and this is yet to be fixed. Such a bummer, wish more people noticied it because at this point, the Gurus might not even know that it exists. Still hoping it will eventually get a fix. :\

I don't know if this is still an active issue going on with this preset, but I've had a lot of issues with other nose presets (normally with the width and nose tip scaling). I've also had more genetic issues such as skin color/hair color not matching parents and whatnot. This however is the most annoying one because I'm not sure if it's just the nose, or if it could be other features as well. I clicked the 'me too' button so hopefully they fix it soon.

I thougth the game did that on purpose. I thought EA was being racist by making all the noses that I make wide (when making African American sims) small. All the noses turn small. I don't think their genetics ever worked. They don't seem to be worried about us legacy players. How hard is it to make a child sim with the same nose width as the parents... Maybe they think the nose looks  better smaller. Seems like they've done this on purpose to make "pretty sims" but in the end... every sims ends up looking the same in the face and ugly... geesh. EA fix this... we will keep complaining until you do. This looks suspect racist.... every sim born has a eurcentric nose and it makes the game no fun if by generation 3 every sim LOOKS THE SAME! I will not buy another addition until EA fixes this!

I have been puzzled about one of my sim and her offspring. They clearly have inherited her nose (instead of father's) but it's still not the same. Something seemed a bit off. Seeing this thread everything clicked - they have her nose, just the width don't match! 

So I'm having this bug too - probably quite many are but it might go unnoticed for a long time if you don't look your sims so closely. But many do look them closely - for example legacy players/ family players. Genetics are very important part of the playing experience for many so I hope they will examine this bug soon!

Still having this bug, also my new born-in-game sims' noses don't match their parents nose width. 

Could be a nice timing for fixing this, family pack just around the corner and all 😉
