Forum Discussion
Hey all,
If any of you are still encountering this on the latest game version (without mods), could you please provide screenshots or save files (save file instructions here http://x.ea.com/74420) of it occurring in-game to assist with our investigation?
Thanks!
Product: The Sims 4
Platform: Mac
Which language are you playing the game in?: English
How often does the bug occur?: About 60%. It is pretty frequent, but hard to replicate
What is your current game version number?: 1.106.148.1230
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed?: All expansion, game, stuff packs, CAS kits, basement treasures/party/book nook/little campers/bust the dust kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?: Playing on San Myshuno, Culpepper apartment
What happens when the bug occurs?: NPCs that are passerby's use the house as if it is part of the street. This happens even when it is not the active lot, and when my sim visits this lot he has to go inside, take a detour to go outside and then knock on the door for some reason. Sometimes the NPCs that teleport there get stuck around the counters and start spinning until they eventually get unstuck and phase through the walls.
What do you expect to see?: For the game to respect the lot boundaries
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods?: Never. This occurrs in a never modded game.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system?: No
Please describe the patch or change you made.: N/A
I do suspect it started occurring after I have renovated the kitchen and added things to the left-hand corner. I did not use move objects cheat for this house either. In fact, when I replaced my counter/bar/bar stool with all island counters, my sim suddenly became unable to enter his own house, even after the counters were removed, until I reloaded an earlier save.
The opening in that area between the counters is also where NPCs would get stuck and start spinning until they'd eventually become unstuck as well. Again, it is only my theory since I don't believe I was seeing any NPCs passing through the house when that corner was empty.
Edit: Here is a video of a NPC appearing in my home during a holiday, going in circles, then leaving. Sometimes they walk through front door, other times they go to the end of the room, make a left and walk through the wall until they vanish.
