[ARCHIVED] Dead Sims being culled fro family tree although still ghosts

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? n/a
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Expansions: Get Together, Get to Work. Stuff Packs: Vintage Glamour. Free Stuff: Holiday Celebration.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Under Game Options -> Gameplay change Maximum Sim Count to Unlimited. Also add the active household under the 'My Households' tab.
What happens when the bug occurs? Even after placing the household under the 'My Households' tab and increasing the 'Maximum Sim Count' to 'Unlimited', culling still happens within the game. It shows that the Sim Count under settings as being only 24 so far away from hitting any limit! When I start playing the game for a few in-game hours I notice that the start of the tree gets pruned! I then exit the game without saving to avoid losing these early generations! Then, I downloaded both (not at the same time) the 'MC Command Centre' and 'Neia No Culling' mods.... these also aren't able to stop my family tree from being culled!!
What do you expect to see? Culling not to happen at all, more specifically with the family tree.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Here is the link to my save file and video of the problem. Just to explain a bit of what is going on in the video... Before culling happens you are able to go right back to the sim 'Gareth Davies'. Although after a few in-game hours (thus after pruning/culling) you are only able to go back to Elizabeth II!! It therefore has pruned 3 generations off the family tree.

The option does not disable culling.

Setting the limit to unlimited, just means you can put as many families on the save list as you want.

Do you have culling on Sims you have put as safe ? I'm currently a bit unsure how the family tree is supposed to work but as it seems broken with the issue that dead Sims show alive in it, that could just be a related issue.

Thanks for your comment. Yes I was aware of what you said but i read on this link that if you put the household under 'My Households' they are protected from culling? Even though their family tree still gets culled :/ Also in the link it says this:
Ghosts will now no longer disappear from family trees when they are returned to the netherworld or culled by the game.

I read that as no matter what happens to the dead they should still remain on the family tree? Just not the case with me ☹️
Yes I have dead Sims appearing alive on the tree and also generic portraits too :S so strange..
Just to add to the above... I'm pretty sure the mod I was using before to disable culling was working until the last patch. But now no matter which mod I chose they don't solve the issue :/ I'm a bit of a novice with these mods... I just downloaded the files and placed them in the Mods folder... I then enabled Mods in the settings. Was I correct in doing that? Such a shame I can't get mods to solve this bug ☹️

I won't comment on mods. You will need to take that up with the creators.

Are we JUST talking family tree culling here ? As I said, there's a few issue with it currently and the problem is that once the Sims die, they're not under the usual culling protection but it works otherwise but I need to read up on the current status which I don't have any time for this week, unfortunately.

Yes I think we're just talking family tree culling... I can't see any others in the neighbourhood disappearing.. although I could be wrong. The strange thing is... my very first sim in the game and thus first in the family still exists as a playable ghost even after culling has removed her from the tree! So weird.

I'm a bit unsure if this is connected to other family tree issues that are going on.

Did you play more and had more disappear ?

Hi @crinrict. Thanks for getting back to me. Yeah it's a bit of an odd one. The more I played the more would be culled from the family tree! Really wish there was an option to disable culling completely. I live in hope! haha

Sorry, you already posted that. Getting a bit confused with all the issues.

Do you remember which one was the last to get culled ? Is the ghost still available and do you remember when that was ?

Since you also seem to have the dead Sim is alive in the family tree issue, I think this might need revisiting after that bug is solved to see if it's still an issue before adding an extra thread to the list. Your tree is extra big though.
