EA should just be ashamed of the way Sims 4 blocks all player interactions while a fire is even remotely on the lot in the first place and makes all the sims first crowd the fire, then flee the area. Fires should be traumatizing for the amount of damage they do and the injury or loss of life, not because there's a fear of spending at least two in-game hours and at least 20 real-world minutes ABSOLUTELY HELPLESS and unable to save-and-exit because apparently, EA thinks we can't have a life outside of the game and we need to be locked down and punished by having to watch as they take control and do the most irritating and least entertaining things with your sims.
If it weren't for this player-punishment blocking, fires that happen under cabinets, inside foundations and in other stupid places that don't render and sims can't reach could be resolved by the player, but EA doesn't want that. There will never be a fix to this bug, they WANT us to remain crippled for the duration of a fire, and they don't care how much anxiety that causes, or how much it breaks the game. They want fire to have maximum trauma to the player, and this is the only way they know how to do it.
