[ARCHIVED] [FR] Tenant Vacated but cant re-rent, edit, or change lot type

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.103.250.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? all ep but eco lifestyle and get together, most gp and a few kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? play as a landlord and have a tenant vacate on their own
What happens when the bug occurs? I got the notice that the tenant was vacating on their own. The tenants name no longer displays next to the unit, but the game keeps thinking the unit is occupied. I cant rent it again, I cant edit it in build mode, and I cant change the lot type because the game thinks I still have a tenant renting.
What do you expect to see? I expect when they vacate the unit should become empty, editable, and/or rentable again.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. For Rent

Got the same problem. It seems like when we divide a lot into apartments, for some reason the first apartment has a "home" checkbox, although no one lives in the house, and that apartment is automatically designated as the owner's apartment. But there is in fact no owner, we can buy and sell this lot.

Here's what I did to fix this in my game: I assigned all the rooms to one apartment, made the lot residential, destroyed it completely, placed a random Sim on this empty lot, put my house from the library before dividing it into apartments, made it an apartment, divided it again for apartments and this random Sim, who is also the owner, now lives in one of the apartments. For now it goes smoothly, but I'll keep the old save file to rollback everything if it happens again.

  • @Rialike I did the same thing as you, but even if I assign all the room to one apartment is this shows that the lot is occupied and can't even be destroyed even when I go to the world map to edit it, and I can't even put sims to the lot also...

I had the same after I tried to buy this rental lot with another sim and even after he sold it I still couldn't do anything. That time I loaded earlier save which was before that sim bought a lot and then did what I described earlier

What happens when the bug occurs? Tenant randomly moves out. Nothing about bad conditions, they aren't charged with violating the lease agreement. I can't fill the vacancy because it thinks someone still lives there. I even try to unjustly evict the blank space and it doesn't work. I have to move someone in from the map and then evict that person to be able to see the "fill vacancy" button again. In one of my other units, the tenant has stayed. But when I received the weekly rent, it was only like 1.5 times the weekly amount for ALL units. So I was not paid my full amount of rent. My weekly amount was around 90-200 for the week (because of the tenant that kept leaving) and I only got paid 300 for the whole week.
What do you expect to see? I expect for the tenant to stay for the length of the lease, and to receive my full weekly rent.
