[ARCHIVED] Getting charged by imaginary NPC (sometimes twice)

My sims have a daily maid, but there's a really annoying bug where whenever my sims leave their home lot and return again, or go into CAS via the mirror and return to the home lot, I get a popup mess...

On my lots that have a hired gardener, if my Sims leave the lot after the gardener has done their work and charged for it, upon returning I often get a message that the gardener has charged (again) for work they've done while I was away. I've seen this happen in multiple lots, worlds, and saved games.

I'm on macOS 10.12.2 (Sierra), all expansions and packs, no mods or custom content.

    I saw this bug as well. The dirty dishes were piled up on the floor, but my sim was still charged for the fee. I never did see the maid.

      Is this for an apartment or a house in your case ?
