[ARCHIVED] [GRO] Infant don't act on their achieved milestones when invited over

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.98.158.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Growing together, Discover university, Island living, Get famous, Seasons, Cats and dogs, City living, Get together, Get to work, Dream home decorator, Parenthood, Laundry day, Toddler, Kids room, Free pack (holiday celebration)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Invite an infant sims to the active household's lot or to an event.
What happens when the bug occurs? An infant sim who is invited to an active household's lot will behave as if they have not achieved any milestones. For example, if the infant is invited to a house party, they will not crawl, despite unlocking the crawl milestone. When playing the infant's household, their milestones are present (they behave normally). *The problem existed prior to adding custom content*
What do you expect to see? Infants' milestones should remain intact regardless of if they are in the current active household.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Infants lose milestones when they are not in the current active household.

  • @Ki_0807 Do they loose them as in when you switch back they are gone or are they just not present while invited over ? You do say they are normal when you played them but was that before or after the visit ?

@crinrict They only lose them when they are invited over. For example, after the party, if I were to make the infant's family my active household, the milestones are back.
  • Hi! I was hoping to shed light to an ongoing issue in the game.

    I have 15 played households.

When playing one household, I teach the infants all milestones before I switch to another household to play, only to discover that if the same infant is invited to a stay over (at grandmas or anywhere) they no longer know how to sit up, crawl, talk etc. Now, they only lay on the floor & keep having a laugh milestone over and over. Also, if you invite baby over as grandparent, you are not able to help them reach any milestones. It’s just endless tummy time.

This is also the same when visited. I will visit a house as grandma or auntie/uncle & the infant that I know can crawl/sit-up etc no longer knows how to do any of that unless you are actively playing their household.

This has become really frustrating for me because Growing Together is my favorite pack.

I would really like for them to maintain all milestones reached while being visited or visiting other households. PLEASE lol, I turn aging off for infants/toddlers & now I don’t even want to experience anymore because they are not actively able to be taken care of unless being played.

@632vozy4cru2 To be sure that I understand the issue correctly: They still have all their milestones when you go back to play them but they don't when they are NPCs ?

Yes. Sorry for the late response.

    To clarify, for example :

I’ll just finish playing a household with infant that has all milestones met & can sit/crawl. Then I’ll switch control to another household that knows them (grandma, or aunt/uncle) & upon visiting, the infant no longer “seems” to know how to do these things. Then upon switching back, they do.

Same as if the infant is invited for a stay over. It only lays down, even if at home it knows how to sit/crawl.

Ive noticed This only happens with played households— so if I visit an unplayed household (a friend of my sims) that has an NPC infant, their infant can sit/crawl even though they’ve never been actively played/taught.

@632vozy4cru2 I found an existing bug report for this and merged your thread.

Make sure to click me too in the first post.
  • Definitely noticed this in my game. The infant can’t crawl or do anything milestone related when invited over as an NPC

  • Any progress on this? There hasn't been a response for over a year so I'm wondering if it's still being looked into. It's extremely annoying.
