[ARCHIVED] [GRO] Research Genealogy does nothing

I am still having this issue too. Both with and without mods.

When Growing Together first came out I didn't know what it was and just had my sim do it and she had a relative come over. That's the only time it's ever worked. Ever since my sim could Research Genealogy multiple times every day and nothing ever happens. This is across multiple saves, with and without mods (the only ones I use when I'm playing with mods are UI cheats and MCCC).

This has continued to not happen with every update, my game is always up to date. I'm on PC, have all packs installed.
