I have the same issue except on Mac. It's really frustrating. I can get them to eat but they have to pick up a serving, which goes to their inventory and then from there can they eat the food.

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%) - I should note that I have found a work around if I add the dish to my fridge, and select "get leftovers" - that being said, in this instance, I can't pick what my Sim will eat if I have a variety of dishes available.
What is your current game version number? 1.101.290.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except Journey to Batuu and CAS kits

Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? After installing Home Chef Hustle
