Did you move out Sims from your household or merge with other households or did they simply reset one day ?
How many did you have before ?

They have been living there quite some time. If I had to pin point the day they reset, I would say the day I bought Kids Stuff Pack. I had just finished collecting the post cards onto finishing the frog collection and the Poof! All collections started back to zero except the ones I have in my inventory as stash.

I've merged with this existing thread although these days, this is more about moving then the actual travel process.
Was there any traveling involved for you (aka loading screens) or did someone die ?

I've done some thorough research. Sadly to say; I don't have any backup save that have it. I clean this on a monthly basis. However, I have found your theory to be somewhat true. Back in November of 2015 I moved my family to the newest world, "Newcrest". That may have been when the formulas in collections starting messing up (The numbers in Red along with the new fish and other items they added.)
But. Along with this ongoing issue. I can verify that since the release of the Kids Stuff Pack. None of the collections STAND. For instance, if I collect all postcards or void cards right now, if I go back into my game, they will be gone. A few others over in the simblr community have agreed with me.
