I have Animal and Sim aging off, but as soon as I loaded a household with a goat, a sheep and elder horse Grim showed up and I got spammed multiple notices that my sheep was dying. But, nothing happened. Then my horse died. Then it went back to spamming me that my sheep was dying. Grim just hangs around getting giddy (in my game he's a Cat Lover) over the cats (cats not dying, thank goodness) and can't be interacted with. So far the goat is fine. But maybe she's next.
Update: I restored my save to an earlier version. Then I chose to have my Household (cats, horse and Sims) travel to a different lot from the world view. (Insult to injury they got a bill for 124,282 simoleons.)
Then I traveled home and immediately put the goat and sheep into Household Inventory. Both are young adults. I don't know if they age up to adults then elders and then die or not. Not had enough experience with them. But it seems like they are healthy and happy and should not be dying.
Sheep and goat went from being happy young adults in the Household Inventory to One Last Pet when I took them out. Sigh.
Update: I finally got Grim to actually "reap" my goat and sheep - instead of wondering around taking photos of the horse or getting giddy over the cats - by sending the horse to training and having my two sims keep the cats occupied by some pampering on the couches. Still, it took awhile for him to settle down and just do his job.
Still! I have Animal Aging off.

Grim is definitely overzealous in his job lately. I would like to know if EA QA playtests new packs with all other packs (doesn't seem like it) or just base game + new pack (definitely seems to be this option with all the new bugs lately).
Please fix this soon! Cottage Living/Horse Ranch are designed with sim/animal relationships as a high priority for gameplay, yet now you've unleashed a crazy Grim Reaper on us!

Grim is waaaay too zealous in his job now. For packs designed to encourage sim/animal relationships, this is a HUGE disappointment.
Does EA outsource QA and only give them access to base game + new pack for a day? Sure seems like it. How do gamebreaking bugs slip through?
Between this bug and the CL festival overlapping bug, I can't play several of my families in my rotational save. It's so frustrating.
PS (edit): I double-posted by accident because the first post didn't post (or so I thought).

What's wrong with this game?!- xochiquetzl_xkvn3 months agoSeasoned Ace
Yeah, I’m a rotational player and have animal aging off. Grim showed up last night to reap one of my chickens (the others are age “one… last… pet…”), my two-rotation-old (so two weeks if they only age while I’m playing them) sheep, and my two-rotation-old goat. They were all young adults last rotation.
I can only assume that not only are they aging despite aging being off, but they’re also aging while I’m not playing them. 🙁 (Do they really have 14 day lives on normal lifespan? Surely not. Are they supposed to age when I’m not playing their household?)
I think this started after I bought Life and Death, but could be wrong.
