I had a nearly identical problem and lost all the progress from my last save (about 30 minutes). I was using SocialBunny and trying to make a post and it didn't bring up the post but instead, has blocked me out of the game as I sit and watch my sim on pause with the screen blue-d out.
Did the blue-d out screen issue ever get solved?
