woah i have the exact same issues, i can't go fishing since the update and it's annoying

i tried to reset it with cheats by clicking on a fishing spot, resetted one of my sims in a household and even clicked on a mailbox to reset things
i repaired the game but none of this seems to be working

and no i don't use mods, i removed them just to make sure

i have the same problems with the signed fishing spots not working and it was doing fine before the update
(i also have this constantly)

    @sailorleontine I found fishing still works on boats if you have Island Living. Like the boats you can buy and place on the water. Fishing from there works it just seems to be the signed spots for me

      my sim lives in Sulani (what a coincidence) but i didn't knew about doing that in boats, i give it a try 🙂
      (my sim is rich so it can buy expensive stuff hehe :P )

      I have so noticed it works in boats. It’s really annoying still, because only one person can fish on the boat at a time, and I often like having kids fishing with their parents.

    Ugh me too, all Sulani's fishing signs are not working. Vanilla player, No CC or Mods. This 2cd to last update really messed my legacy game up. I noticed if I visit the beach by the bar in Sulani & click on the fishing sign, my sim jumps in the water & swims for over an hour to reach a random canoe, stands on canoe & goes fishing *smacks forehead*.

    I just discovered I am having this issue as well. I just sent my sim to go fishing at one of the spots with a sign and he just waved his hand around with the "I can't get there" thought bubble over his head. I then just had him walk right next to the fishing sign. When I clicked on the sign for him to go fishing, he instead turned, ran into the water, climbed into a nearby outrigger canoe and started fishing from there.

    @sailorleontine Yep, I can’t fish in Sulani anymore either. I didn’t realize it before, my sim went to a boat and fished instead of the sign I told them to fish from, but I just took one there to fish yesterday and they walked halfway to the boat and then started waving at me and telling me they couldn’t get there, so they couldn’t seem to fish from the boat either. And my sim has never lived in Sulani.

      @samd440 You have to put the boat in swimming waters. So make sure your Sim is swimming and then open the inventory, click on your boat and choose the "place in world" action and then take them sail near to a fishing sign. Then click on go fishing or fish with bait etc. I hope this works for you as it works for me.

    I just bought Island Living because it was on sale and as of Dec 2024 this bug is STILL not fixed! Seriously are they going to leave this broken and still sell it?
