[ARCHIVED] Issues with Cheats

I use no mods and CC.

I have found out that this cheat is not working:

sims.age_up

It is supposed to age up the sim or kill them by old age if the aging is turned on. However, it didn't work even if the aging was turned on.

This is interesting cause resetsim works for me. There's a few people reporting it broken but I have no issues with it.

Since the recent game update, two game issues have come up that I find particularly annoying.  Firstly, people may not agree with me on this point and I completely understand, but from time to time I like to use cheats to help my sims progress sooner. Since the update, a lot of the cheats that used to work, such as stats.fill_commodities_household don't work anymore. This is the same, whether I use TestingCheats True or the other combinations first, or not. Secondly, prior to the update, whenever I moved a cursor over a spliced plant, a list used to appear of all the plants that made it. Now, since the update, all I get is Spliced Plant and a Quality Level Indicator. This information is useless for someone who likes to group their plants according to their type: fruit/vegetable/flower/herb, etc. As the saying goes, If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Is anyone else as annoyed about this as me

Does resetsim firstname lastname work for you ?

Move objects, free real estate, and shift-click cheats still work for me. Skill and mood cheats are for sure broken. Haven’t tried the career cheats yet tho

Since the update;

I’m having issues with all cheats except motherlode.  None of them that I’ve tried will work.  I’m using the testingcheats true command as well.  This includes skills, career, aging, mood, and needs cheats.  😩

My sims are constantly getting stuck and there’s nothing I can do except exit and reopen the game.

Origin runs and opens just fine, however the sims 4 application always crashes on the start-up EA screen.  I’ve tried repairing the game, I’ve moved the sims 4 application to my desktop and tried opening it up from there.

I’m so sad because I’ve literally played the game maybe like four hours because I just got it and I was so excited to have the sims again.  😭
