[ARCHIVED] Issues with Work From Home Tasks

I started playing the social media career and I've run into a bug I can't seem to get around. I'm working from home and I have to meet 3 new people at the Art District. I have met at least 8 new sims now, but I have no progress at all. Any idea how to fix this? Here's what I already did:

- Repair the game

- Travel to the district during night (because there was a festival going on somewhere when I first tried)

Do they need to be actually living in that area or do you have to just meet them there ?

Are you using any mods in your game ?

I have no mods installed. I tested it some more and it seems that the moment I want to introduce myself to another Sim I get a relationship bar, even if the introduction hasn't happened yet. Meeting Sims that live in the fashion district doesn't seem to be a requirement. I tried it anyway, but it didn't do anything different.

I'll try to duplicate this.

I thought I had something similar but I found out that instead of meeting sims your sim doesn't know, you have to use the interaction 'get to know' on the sim. Doing that should progress you in the home goals for your career.

I've tested this and I'm pretty sure you're issue is as @WhiteLotussX says.

You have to get to know them and then it fulfills.

Please let me know if your goal was called differently and what level you're on.

There's a problem with the work from home tasks. In the Political Career, my task was simply to "Promote the Cause." When I hovered over this task it said to go to the Friend section, go to the Political Career section, and then select the action "Promote Cause."  Here's the problem...there is no "Promote the Cause" action. The action that is listed is "Promote Policies" which doesn't complete the task. I tried it on several different Sims with several different relationship levels and still nothing. There is also no option to "leave work early" so I couldn't just end my Sims work day. I had to end the game without saving which is not a solution. 

You did choose a cause, right ?

I've found an issue with working from home in the Social Media Career.

My Work From Home Assignments were:

Represent a Friend (works fine)

Chat about Work Twice with Co-workers (problem)

Hovering over the Chat about Work Twice with Co-workers says:

Run any of the following interactions: Gossip about Office Romance, Make Fun of Corporate Goons, Brag about Job Title, Offer Career Advice

As far as I'm aware, all of the above interactions are unlocked in the Business Career - NOT Social Media.  I was able to complete it by doing Gossip About Co-workers under the Friendly interactions.  However, Discuss Work and Complain about Work didn't count for completion.  I was definitely speaking to a co-worker that my sim was Good Friends with.
