I've tried all solutions I can possibly think of, remove from family -add to a family, move sim to another family, kill child sim before he is whisked away (where child sim didn't actually die due to this) and feed him ambrosia, hoping it will remove hidden buff (or whatever it is) as neglected - NOTHING worked.
For those people who is also affected by it on PC, the only solution is a mod (sorry console players ☹️ )
Please be ware mod hasn't been updated since 2020, please use it smart and make saves back up prior using it.
I have tested it on both UNmodded game and on heavily modded game - mod works, child is not taken away.
Mod called "Don't Take Away My Child" by toprapidity.

@Genevieve4 You chose you get this all the time. So this happens with every child in all families and you can duplicate the issue on a fresh save that never had any mods/cc in ?
There's also this old thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Social-Services-takes-away-my-Child-no-warning-low-grades/td-p/10402563 which is mostly about grades.- Genevieve48 months agoRising Scout@crinrict Hi, thank you for your message.
Since the issue just happened to me, around 10h ago, I haven't tried it on never modded save file, as a child is not just immediately taken away, I guess, it has to be played with for a couple of sim weeks at least.
Since this one is the only child I was actively playing in my save file - I've got him affected. As for other kids - I think I have to play them more to say for sure.
And thank you for the thread pin point, I've checked it.
Unfortunately, I have tried all of those, with grades, needs, moving families and aging. And weirdly enough my sim never had F as a grade, his lowest was C when he aged up to a child with a cake. Then he bumped up a grade to B.
So I'm lost on why is this happening :D
Will try testing it on a new clean from mods save file, but since it was happening before in 2021, I'm thinking it can be a bug that has been worsen with LD update.
In any case, thank you for your feedback.- crinrict8 months agoHero+
@Genevieve4 To me it seems it's the same issue with an added layer that the child dies.
Would he good though to test if it's something specific about this child.
@kiwi923 merged your post. Did you also get a neglect message ?
@Gatorbama242 Are you using mods/cc ?

@Genevieve4 Thanks for the suggestion, the mod didn't work for me tho. I just encountered this issue yesterday and came here to see solutions. Glad i'm not the only one having this issue. It's disappointing. I'm so done with the sims tbh i'm over it. This is definitely an issue on their side and i don't think this will be resolved unless they release another update.
- Genevieve48 months agoRising Scout@AnaBanana_207484 Ah, I'm so sorry it didn't work for you. I just wander why? I'm thinking of what I did before using the mod, I recovered my save to the point where the child wasn't taken away and he had a good amount of hours before it happens.
In regards of the issue itself, is your sim child also having good grades at school, has good needs etc? Do you originally play with mods too?
Issue is really weird tbh, cant pin point why its happening, currently trying to test it on unmodded new save file, but it takes time to play that child to the point of being taken away (die) :D.- AnaBanana_2074848 months agoNew Novice
I've been trying to figure out stuff i did before as well. Yeah i play with mods and i removed any mod i installed before playing yesterday and that didn't fix it. The child had average grades like a B and his needs are good. Honestly i've never had a child taken away in all the years i've been playing sims 4 until this last sims 4 update lol . Honestly don't waste your time, its on them to fix this. I don't think there's anything else we can do. Weirdest bug ever
