[ARCHIVED] Library/Gallery Interface

As of the 05/04/15 patch, which supposedly addressed some sort of a vague Gallery interface issue (?), there seems to be a possibly even bigger Gallery issue that has been created.

NOTE: I (lindawing in the Gallery) have a couple of mods in place, but my friend Melody (OkieMelody in the Gallery) never, EVER uses mods. We have exactly the same issue.

When we look at our Libraries, now, it doesn't show that we've shared a single file in the Gallery, except for the one we just uploaded. Melody didn't realize that she should go check to see if the files WERE still in the Gallery. She just assumed that they had been culled, so...she uploaded every last one of them over again.

I knew that all of her old stuff was still there, because I had been to her Gallery earlier in the day, and I knew that all mine were there. I checked mine again today, and have just checked hers again, as well. All of mine are definitely there, and she has duplicates, triplicates, and even one with a fourth upload, I think. All of her old stuff is still in place as it should be, but in her Library, on patch day, she had to re-upload everything in order to see it show that it was shared, in her Library.

I patched on the 5th, and THEN the same thing happened to me, but I knew to go check out the actual Gallery first, before I started re-uploading everything.

So...this is a BIG problem, and I can see all sorts of people re-sharing all of their stuff, without thinking to check the Gallery first. I think that many people still don't realize that the Library is NOT the Gallery. I know several people who, lately, who have thought that people are actually downloading shared stuff from their own Libraries, and that when they SHARE things, they're not really uploading them...just opening up their own Libraries, which is obviously not the case and should be quite apparent to someone who is fairly computer and internet literate. Not all of our Sims players ARE, though. Many simply have no clue!

I hope this problem will be fixed quite soon!!! If I need to report it to EA, please let me know.

Thanks!

  • I have this same issue - and I DO NOT use mods. All of the sudden my 250 creations show NOTHING is shared. Preventing me from seeing comments, replying to them, showcasing anything, ect. REALLY annoying.

Weirdest part is that when I search the gallery and find a creation of mine, I can reply, see comments or showcase it THEN - but when I pop back over to my library is shows absolutely EVERYTHING as not uploaded. SO weird.

I also testing and created something new and shared it. THAT shows in my library just fine with EVERYTHING else messed up.

Tried all the normal and noted "tricks" to no avail. Anyone find a solution to this yet? I want to pull my hair out at this point!

    They should still be shared.

I think only way atm is to ignore the not shared.

  • Why is all my shared creations saying there no longer shared and need to be done again their still on my #hellsace555 plz help

  • I'm really upset for what is happening in the gallery!

Firstly I'm not using Mods or CC.

The gallery is unsharing creations by its own. I can't flag my creations for the others see and much less track notifications in my game when someone like or download.

As you can see all these creations are marked as not shared.

But I already shared this Sims in my game!!

    What can I do now?

Because everywhere I go I still can see it's shared.

For example in my CAS Demo.

    And in the Gallery website.

I will not share all my creations again. Not anymore.

It's not the first time happened to me!

    Exist a fix for this?

    I need help!

It's a known bug.  The library seems to get out of sync and "forgets" that an item has been shared.  However, the item is still available on the Gallery, and you can see it if you look up your ID on the Community tab.  You can then still see the number of downloads, favorites, and comments that the items has.  More information on the bug in this thread@crinrict I'm guessing you'll want to merge this into it.

    I see.

The problem is I can't put flag in my creations and with this I can't set them in evidence.
And more, I need to go in the website gallery every time just to see what is happening because again I can't track them ingame.
It's really awful because I feel the game is incomplete with this.

For me who create Sims everyday to share and the game just miss them in the gallery...
    Something is wrong.

  • And here I am. It's 2018 and I have exactly the same issue.
It's look like my library forgot which of my works are shared. I can't check comments or likes. I can't even find they in gallery in game (only via the browse).
    It's so anoing and irritating
