I'm also having this issue! Whenever I have my sim invite sims who are outside of their household to hangout, they will say yes and show up, only to then immediately disappear. After that, even when clicking "hangout at current lot" in the relationship panel, they will say they are coming right over, only to never appear.
This doesn't matter if it's a date, or just a hangout with many sims traveling together. They all just immediately leave once they briefly load on the community lot.
I did some more testing and this seems to only be an issue on community lots in Tomarang. I've even replaced the two default community lots with new ones from the gallery, and still sims immediately leave when invited out to Tomarang. This doesn't seem to be an issue in other worlds, since I tested a couple others and my invited sims stayed for a while.
This is an issue for me no matter what public place my Sim goes to with a NPC. And it's been happening for quite a while now. In my game, NPCs will stay for dates and social events (something with a timer), but if i try to just travel my sim with a NPC to, say, a bar or lounge just to hang out, the NPC loads and then immediately leaves. It's very, very frustrating. My sim's best friend is a NPC and they can't just go to a bar to hang out together. I think my workaround for now is going to be to create a club for just the 2 of them. (NPCs do stay for the club gatherings in my game.) But I really hope they fix this soon. It's become so difficult for played sims to socially interact much at all with the NPC sims.
Is anyone still having this problem? It's still happening for me, whenever my sims travel with NPC's, get invited to a party and take NPC's, go on a date. It's very frustrating! Does anyone know if this issue is being looked at by EA?
Same, I can't do emotional texts outings since the sim will just leave now. This only started after the Reaper Event started and whatever code was used to create it screwed up the game yet again. Honestly, ever since the patch setting up for Lovestruck popped up in July, Sims 4 has just been a mess...
