@crinrict I’m not OP, but I’ve been having this same issue for a while now.
It happened with multiple Sims. No Vampires involved (I don’t have the GP). Daytime or nighttime, never tried it after 12AM, though. Playing on console, so no mods.
IIRC, before I had Get Together, it would happen on dates that were initiated by an NPC. After I got GT, I’ve noticed it happen after sending emotional texts and agreeing to the upcoming invite. My Sim would travel to the purported lot, then the inviter would load, then vanish, and the Hangout with Friends would end.
Recently I invited Don Lothario to a date using the relationship panel and he didn’t even load, he simply ghosted my Sim — kinda in character, if you ask me. The date was supposed to take place at the Waterside Warble Karaoke Bar late in the afternoon, almost sundown. This Sim has had successful dates in the past, just not with Don.
Events initiated by sending emotional texts never worked right, though, so it’s been while since I tried them.
