I have a mom who had a child with a dad outside the household. For story telling, I wanted Kyle Kyleson who asked to come stay with her to fall in love with her and adopt the child as his own. When he adopts as care dependent though, it doesn’t recognize it in the “become a parent” milestone of any of the family aspirations for him.

On Xbox One, it didn't allow us the aspiration while having a kid with the 3 traits. Have most dlc but no other mods.
@urdecytctmlyI think that is normal in the family asperation because it goes by your family tree to determine if you are related or not, and than we your sim dies it breaks the family tree and you can have them get married again to save it, but as long as you don't send your ghost sim to neither world the game can't delete them.
Edit: You need to adopt the child has a teen when they are young adults it is too late.
