Seen this reported a few times now and I believe @BryonyRae is doing some testing.
Awaiting her feedback
Excellent! Thank you!

I've been doing some testing, and it appears that not only does auto lights.cause the behavior, but also simply turning lights off or on. Any color/intensity settings will be removed the moment you turn lights off, regardless of whether you do it individually, by room, or for all lights. Also, if you select auto lights, then set the color/intensity for some lights and decide that you want to manually turn them on (i.e. in a room where no sim is present), they will likewise lose their color/intensity settings. Likewise, if you manually turn a light off.
I would definitely categorize this as a bug and would like to merge it into our lighting issues thread.

The lights have several bugs right now.
- auto lights resetting light settings
- auto lights sometimes can only be assigned to this room or all lights on random lights which affects all lights of the room the selected light is in
- selecting auto lights after changing light settings resets light settings
- lights ignoring auto light

@ceunon20 I was able to reproduce your issue with the friezes, and it occurs anytime a light source is used that allows light to spill upwards. Lamps where the light is directed downward/to the sides do not cause the effect (so you might try using that as a workaround.. The shape of the structure does not matter in terms of the lighting, nor does the roofing. The problem affects exterior trims as well but not roof trims. I can see what you mean with the columns placed in certain locations also. I think these glitches tie into #'s 2 and 26 on our list, which are both examples of interior lighting impacting the exterior more than it should. However, I will note this as a separate issue on the list. Here's a shot of what happened on my test build:
As for the trees on the Von Haunt estate, I personally don't find them overly dark, based on their apparent proximity to lights, which seem to be positioned within the central flower beds. If anything looks too dark to me, it would be the outer shrubbery, where you can see lights placed near it, yet it is of a uniform darkness. However, these are all objects in an uneditable area of the world. The trees and shrubs that you are seeing are *not* the same as the ones we have access to in many cases and thus may not be tuned to display the same lighting effects as the trees and shrubs that we have access to. I don't really see this as a priority issue.
.
@Zasz_Zerg your first and third points are what we have reported. I need more information regarding your second and fourth points. Which lights are you finding that you cannot set auto lighting on? Which lights have you found that ignore auto lighting?
