Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Complete objectives for the first two Reaper's Rewards tasks without completing each task entirely, save and exit game, get back on the game the next day.
What happens when the bug occurs? Previously completed objectives under each Reaper's Reward task are reset and come up as uncompleted, the only objective that remains completed is the one asking you to by The Grimophone if it's already purchased.
What do you expect to see? I expected to get back on the game and see the same progress on my Reaper's Rewards tasks from when I saved and exited the game yesterday.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes

I just opened up my game and saw that both my Reaper's Rewards tasks were reset as if I hadn't completed any of the objectives that I had after playing last. I confirmed that this wasn't because I accidentally hadn't saved my game once I saw that I still had the snapdragon and lily planted for the objectives I completed the last time I played. I also had already purchased The Grimophone so that ended up being the only objective that came up as complete. I haven't tried recompleting objectives, exiting, and getting back on the game again yet, but I'm worried that if I do the same thing could happen again. I wasn't too far ahead but it'll be a bit of a hassle to spend more time and money to plant and complete the objectives again, my sim's currently balling on a budget in her apartment with a small balcony ahaha. Hoping this gets fixed soon especially if other players are also running into this 🙂

* side note: I use custom content but I only download from creators with reliable content and haven't had my current cc (which I has been the same for about a year) interefere with my gameplay before.

Hi,
So since the Grim Reaper's Rewards event began, I have been having an issue where, when I save and exit the game, the tasks do not save. The points I have gathered do but the tasks themselves do not, meaning that so far I have had to ask about 21 sims about ambrosia and plant the lilies and snapdragons about 7 times.
I am still having this issue, which is becoming very annoying.
Does anyone know why this is happening?
P.S I have tried without mods and it does the same thing

@Eclipses_454 Are you on PC ? What antivirus program are you using ?

@sambraue What security software are you using ? Please also test without mods/cc if the issue keeps persisting.

@Eclipses_454 Does Norton have some kind of ransomware protection ? Could you make sure to add the Sims as exception ? Make sure to add <your installation location>\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4_DX9_x64 and TS4_x64 maybe also TS4_Launcher_x64 (all same location)

I am also having this problem, only I never got past the second task. The Reaper Timeline (I don't know what else to call it) is showing that I have 15 points, and it's stuck there. I no longer have the option to ask about ambrosia, nor research ambrosia. I have not been asked to buy a Grimphone. It's like it all dropped off my game.
It's kind of maddening that there is no reset button for this. It's embedded in the game somewhere other than in the Save or Tray files; I suspect a line has been added to an .ini file, but I haven't I haven't had time to make a copy and take it apart line by line yet. I will report back if I find anything.
But there really should be a reset button.
P.S. By the way, can someone tell me why my profile picture here is some guy with a beard?

My game freezes with it. Also today, when they did the update, October 1, 2024 the event started all over again telling me to buy the Grimophone all over again but its already in my household's inventory.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go to an active household.
What happens when the bug occurs? Initially the event UI was not present. After putting a household in Live mode and unpausing, after a second or two the event popped up with Week 1 and Week 2 active and incomplete. I completed Week 1 well before the "fix".
What do you expect to see? To have Week 1 completed.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

@CovetCat Do you have the same task over and over again or did you loose your quest icons ?

@mslataprada Did it start at that task for from the beginning for you ? Also merged your thread.

Week 2 do not have a task to buy a Grimophone. Did it start over from week 1 or did you perhaps misunderstand the task you have to invite the grim reaper over and socialize? If you did for some reason start from Week 1 it should be enough to take it from inventory and place it in the house.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Had my sim travel to a lot that wouldn't load so had to quit the game in task manager, when I loaded the game back up the quest had reset and I now have to restart the whole quest.
What happens when the bug occurs? Friends With Death event quest reset.
What do you expect to see? For the quests to not restart.

The quest objectives are also not showing up in the top left anymore. I have also tried to see if mods/cc were causing the issue but that didn't help.
