It's so out of sync. Like it can go up, and down, and think you're lower but bar shows higher. It refunds points as it goes down, then you have to read books or experiement to rank up again so you can place them back. It's an utter mess.

    I have this exact same problem. Once my sim overmaxs her magic it brings her down to Neophyte Spellcaster and I have to go through the Master and Virtuoso ranks to get her perks back. Despite having all the perks.
