[ARCHIVED] [S] Father Winter doesn't leave

I simply ran outside of my house, called Santa outside, ran back inside and locked the doors for everyone (just because I’m paranoid, I didn’t want Santa taking my toddler to the North Pole). Wait a couple of Sim hours and he seems to just disappear. 

I don't know if this issue was resolved, but just in case some are still having this problem and want an answer, I have discovered a solution.

I only have an issue with Father Winter not leaving when I play my University lot, and then an idea struck me.

I don't have any fireplaces on my University lot, so ...

When Father Winter visited my sim at the University, and when he didn't leave, I put in a fireplace.

Sure enough ... Father Winter went right to the fireplace and left.

Yeah, this happened to me, too.  I DO have a fireplace, and he did the rotate upwards leaving animation and the sound played, but then computers fired off video games when no one was there, and the game pad played games by itself, and all my Sims were "chatting with [father winter]" when he wasn't there, and the game refused to go to speed 4 when everyone was asleep, so I went into manage worlds and it turned out he'd been living in their home, invisible, for 36 hours.  (He became visible on lot reload.) Creeeeeeeeeepy.  There was no option to send him home or ask him to leave. 

I used the middle-school solution and invited him to the park, then turned around and left him there during a blizzard and locked all the doors.  No offense, Santa, but you can't live with us.  GO HOME.

I just had this happen to me, but found a fix on reddit - add Clement to a group then disband the group.  You should then get the option to send him home.  You might need to do this more than once (create group, disband group, tell him to leave), but it does work.  Could save you a loading screen traveling to another lot, and meanwhile you can keep doing things around the house your sims needed to do.

I've had this happen today. Father Winter wouldn't leave my Sims house. I made sure the door was unlocked for him to get out but he didn't go. He stepped outside when the child and dog did in the morning so I locked the door to stop him getting back in.

He wouldn't leave the doorstep. So my Sim travelled to her retail lot and he was gone when she returned.

I have the same thing, well similar. Father Winter was visiting my lot on the holiday and stayed for a few days, slept in the bed of the children and even cooked and so on. I don't have any mods or cc in my folder (never used even) and I didn't get rid of him. Couldn't kill him as well, because when I did a sim of my household died!!! Even with the Ranchhelp, the ranchhelp is not going home! When I fired him, another ranchhelp appeared and he/she didn't go home and the other that I already fired stayed as well. I have said this in the Dutch Answers HQ and they think that it's perhaps simular problem/bug as Father Winter. 

I moved my household into an empty lot, then there were no ranchhelps or Father Winter, when I buldozed the lot, and rebuild my home on the old neighbourhood (the one from the pack with the horses) and I moved my household in, the 2 ranchhelps appeared again! Please help???
