Marking this as solved for now since there's quite a few maid issues solved in the current patch.
While this isn't on the list explicitly, it's also not a thread that got a lot of attention since October.

I currently had this exact same issue just now. Maid stood outside my house for 3 days, going from knocking on door to mailbox and waving... non stop. I finally invited her to the park and left her there and canceled my maid service. Since maids are something that is actually IN the game, I'd like to use it. But now I can't for fear of this glitch coming back. Any word on a fix for it yet other than just a walk around?
Could you rehire one and see if you have the same behavior ?

I take it there's no ask to leave ? Can you try @xoChelleJoxo's work around above ?
