    I'm going to archive this thread. 

    There's several reasons for not cooking, most of which are legit and not bugs. If you do have a bug, please create a new thread

    Several causes have been identified

    • Pot Rack over stove (Deemed as design)
    • Sims trying to use a far away counter they can't access (Bug) --> Should be fixed
    • Outdated custom content (use S4Studio to fix your custom content)
    • There is no free counter anywhere
    • There's something already in the oven
    • There's no stove/stove broken
    • There's no fridge/fridge broken
    • Lot is Off the grid but not off the grid appliances

I am having this same issue. My sims will not cook. I only have counters in the kitchen. I have decor on the counters but not a lot. I build the house and my sim cooked a few times and that was it. I had a birthday party and they couldnt cook a cake. My sims can only eat quick meals and grill food. I dont know if this is happening with any other houses in my game. Is my game broke? They start making the food then get stuck not able to go over to the stove. Stand there waving at me letting me somethings in the way.

      I figured out what happen I had a pot rack hanging in front of the stove. I had a social event and that was a gift and I hung it up.. That's why I wasn't able to cook?
