[ARCHIVED] Sim Gets Fear of the Dark After Being Cured (Patch 1.97.42)

I've been really enjoying getting back into the Sims lately. But there's been one glitch that seems to be not going away anytime soon. I've read that others have had the same issue for months now. My sim gained Scared Of The Dark trait. I ended up getting the Fears Be Gone elixir from the rewards store. It cleared my fear, but left a scared of the dark moodlet that will not go away. No matter the method. I've tried waiting it out, only for the timer to remain at 4 hours indefinitely. I tried the Moodlet Solver elixir, also available from the rewards store. Which didn't change anything. A few times the moodlet timer has started to go down from 4 hours, only to consistently reappear when my sim goes outside. No matter the time of day. It's been very annoying and makes gameplay unnecessarily difficult. I love how the sims can develop certain traits, positive or negative. But usually, you can work with or change traits you don't like a sim to have. This glitch has been very pesky and annoying when it comes to getting my sims to do certain task. I don't use any mods or cheats on top of everything. I enjoy getting achievements and earning items the hard way. But this makes me want to stop playing again. Please fix this issue.
