I checked with two sims with different eye types, and as you can see in the attached image, the eyes in both cases appear smaller than before the update.
I still had a screenshot of one of the characters' CAS screen before the update, so I compared that with the new one, but the size of the eyes didn't appear to have changed on the CAS screen.
So it appears to be a visual glitch that only occurs on the portrait displayed in the bottom left.
