Going to lock this thread as it doesn't have the new bug template and has become a bit of a mess.
Just make a new thread if you still have this issue occurring WITHOUT MODS.
I just started playing, my sim went to work and back with no problems at least 5 times, then I was travelling when they should've gone to work, and had to manually tell them to 'Go to Work'. When they came home all options were greyed out and they were still displayed as 'At Work'.
I tried many suggestions I found online:
'Leave work early' - Paid them whatever hourly rate they had earned to that point but still displayed as 'At Work'
'Evict Household' - No change
'Resetsim' - no change
'Travel' - no change
'Save household in Household Management and replace' - no change
'Wait until they go to work the next day and they'll come home after' - they didn't go to work and no change after work hours finished.
Eventually I just had her quit the job and it fixed, I then had her get the job again, but as soon as she came back from work the next time bug happened again.
Sim is Level 1 Culinary. Hope this information helps and the bug is fixed soon.
