[ARCHIVED] Toddlers calling sims to pick them up while talking not fixed

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.104.58.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All packs
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Get a Toddler to talk to someone and they should call any Caregiver near by to pick them.
What happens when the bug occurs? So when a Toddler calls for a caregiver while talking to someone. The sims who was trying to do a action will go to the destination but then go over to the toddler who call them and pick them up. 1 of these 2 results can happen. 1 They would put them down and then go back but the toddler who talking to someone will call them again to pick them making the same result again or second result. The caregiver Will give up and hold the toddler while the toddler talks to who they are talking too resulting the Caregiver not be able to do anything unless told to which can result in the first result. Also related. The Toddler talking to the Caregiver can call them to pick them up and the sim will hold them while talking to them.
What do you expect to see? Toddlers not needing to call their Caregivers just to talk to someone like how it was before the Horse Ranch Patch.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This issue popped up in the Horse ranch pack but was improved a bit in this latest patch.

So this is a update. Turns out the issue isn't full fixed but Has improved a bit. It hasn't been happening all the time but I do still get the issue. So it wasn't happening all the time but I say it happens 50%-90% of the time. I just had the issue pop up in normal play. 7 toddler challenge. I did see a difference but creating this thread just so the sims team are aware. Just giving apologies thinking the issue was fixed. I thought it was since I wasn't getting issues in testing.

This issue, bug, whatever it is, gets frustrating. Toddler A's family goes to visit Toddler B's family so the two can make friends, play together or whatever. Sometimes to get milestones, sometimes just because. Every time toddler A interacts with toddler B, one or both will summon an adult to pick them up. The toddlers can still talk that way, but they can't play or do anything that requires not being held. The adults also can't interact with each other except basic talking while holding the toddler. If they put the toddler down to do something with another adult, the toddler immediately interrupts to be picked up again. Just so they can continue talking. Toddler playdates are maddening because of this. I also have to micro manage the toddler when someone is trying to cook, use the toilet, etc. If I don't catch it fast enough I have to reset one of them so the adult can go back to making food. I'm not sure if this is related to the bug where the toddler summons someone to put them down from a seat that they've already gotten down from before the adult arrives. I like having free will on as I don't like to micromanage. I don't want to designate one part of the house to the toddler and lock the doors. That wouldn't work anyway as they can still summon an adult, the only difference is after the interrupt the request gets dropped due to no access. That's not really solving the problem. I don't know enough about programming to guess if it's routing, unforeseen results of some other programming, or if maybe the behavior is intentional. I can say it gets frustrating. I really wish this would move up the bug priority list.

  • Sorry for late test. Busy and didn't had much time to play. But done the test and this bug still happens on the latest patch. It has gotten worse and now npc toddlers who are staying over or close call sims to pick them up while talking now with the tests I've done.
