[ARCHIVED] Unable to Remove Mailbox / Stuck Item on Lot

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.96.397.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I do not have any expansions, game packs, or stuff packs.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? This bug occurred when I went into manage world and was playing as a different family. Also known as "townies". I went back to playing my own game file, and I believe that's when this crib appeared.
What happens when the bug occurs? In my case, this crib appeared. It's in between property lines, and I am unable to remove it myself.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to remove this glitchy crib.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

So, I have been experiencing this issue for some time now. I received a message from Answers HQ to post a new bug report, so that's why I'm here.

At the time, I was playing outside of the game I created. I guess you could say I started playing as a "townie". I don't remember exactly what I was trying to do, as it's been about a year+ that this issue occurred. But if I remember correctly, when I went back into my own game to play, this bassinet and also a mailbox somehow appeared in between the two property lines. I was able to remove the mailbox using testingcheats true. But I think the mailbox was in such a place on the property line that I was able to remove it, unlike the crib.

I am trying to stay away from using MC Command Center, but right now it seems to be my only hope.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

P.S. I have attached some files; two being of the glitchy bassinet and where exactly it lays between the property lines, and one of the mailbox that I was able to remove. (Sorry, I don't have a better picture of the mailbox.)

  • @wuebker1992 Crinrict doesn't mean cheats. Crin means Mods. I think you have to use google because direkt links to other sites not allowed here

    Google -> Twisted Mexi Destroy object cheat
    or
    Google -> Seebee Destroy object mod

  • @wuebker1992 The best thing you can try is get TwistedMexis Destroy Object Cheat mod. That should give you an option to just delete the object.

    If that doesn't work, try TOOL (another mod of TwistedMexi that allows you to place and remove off-lot objects.

    Thank you for your advice. Can you give me the links for those cheats? How do I use that?

    I know so very little about cheats/mods, that I think I'm just going to let the crib sit there for now. I'd rather it be there than for me to mess up my game so it's unplayable.

    Thanks, all.

  • @wuebker1992 Mods are very easy to use.
    You use google for a mod. (or i give you direkt link via PN)
    Than you download a *.package file. This is the Mod.
    This file goes directly in your Mod folder in your Sims 4 Userfolder.

    Documents
    -> Electronic Arts
    -> The Sims 4
    -> Mods

    @wuebker1992 You can try if you can use the set as head cheat (enable testing cheats, then shift-click on the crib and use set as head, then walk on the lot and remove it again.

    Make sure to try on a backup of your save cause sometimes that just makes the objects duplicate instead of moving them.

    Thank you for the help. I am just going to leave the bassinet where it's at, and hope that the EA team can help me one day. I don't want to make my game unplayable or cause something else to go wrong.

    I was mainly creating this topic to let EA/others know that glitchy, unmovable items are STILL a problem after all these years.

    Hello @wuebker1992 ,

    Are you still experiencing this bug? If you are still encountering this (without mods), would you be willing to share your save file(s)?

    If so, please send me a private message with a link to the file.

    Instructions here: http://x.ea.com/74420

    Thanks!

    I'm not sure how I am just now seeing this. But I wanted to say that several months ago, EA actually helped me delete the bassinet. One day I logged onto the game, and poof! It was gone. Thank you, EA!
