Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.99.264.1230
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything except Cozy Bistro, Riviera Retreat, Party Essentials, and Urban Homage.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When playing the game, Sims will go to a different door other than the one you selected as the front door. When you click on the door you originally set on the front door, it will no longer have the "Set as front door" option grayed out. You will have to click on it again.
What happens when the bug occurs? Visiting Sims will go to a different door instead of the one you selected, making you have to select it again.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see my selected door remain the same, especially after doing it three or four times.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
If I have more than one door, I always try to set the the one I want as the front door. I noticed people were still coming to my sliding glass door in the kitchen instead of the front door, and set the original door as the front door again. When I was playing the other day, it happened every thirty-ish minutes (real life) and I'd have a different visitor show up and go right back to the back door. Reloaded the game today, hoping it was fixed. Double checked the door and it said that that door was still set as my front door... until the next visitor showed up and went to the back door where I had to reset the front door again.
Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

I'll give clearing the cache, but I haven't had the mods folder in my Sims folder in a hot minute, so mods are definitely not the problem.
