Help!
I created my own 4 unit rental building with motel style front door entry at ground level and common stairs to the upper unit front doors. All units also have a backdoor. Ground floor units open out to a patio, and upper units open up to balconies.
My problem is the game has set the back doors to all the units as the front doors. I can't even access the upper level back doors as the landlord because there's no stairs. I want to fix this, however the build mode isn't available. When I hover over the build mode icon, it says, 'this lot is only editable from the World Map.'
Can someone please tell me how to edit my rental building? This is really frustrating as I can't act as the landlord when I can't access all my units.
Thank you!

The issue with what door is chosen by the game as the front door is a known issue. See this post for further info and a way to get the right door set as a front door: [FR] Cannot set/change a front door in an R-Rental building - Answer HQ
Imo, the best way to fix something in a residential rental without creating other problems is to move all the tenants out including your sim. If your sim owns the building, sell it. Then enter the lot in build mode from the map and make your changes. Then go back through buying and finding tenants to get back to where you were. I have found that trying to make changes in a residential rental by going to build mode from live mode can create all kinds of unexpected problems, so I just don't do that anymore. Things work a lot better for me that way.
Hope this helps.
