Big Happy Family - have a child marry not fulfilling when done

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.85.203.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? all but bust the dust which is disabled
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? try to complete the big happy family aspiration
What happens when the bug occurs? when the task is have a child marry, have the child marry the milestone does not fulfill
What do you expect to see? I expect to see the milestone fulfill so I can continue on with the aspiration requirements at the next level, but it doesn't
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I'm not sure how often, as I don't often get that far in aspirations, but I'm doing a legacy challenge and finding a lot of bugs and glitches I didn't know about before.

I can't even CHEAT it done, because the complete aspiration cheat won't work. I'm at a loss how to complete this aspiration

  • Hi,

I have a child that got married but none of the parents receive the points for it. Is this a bug?

OK SO UPDATE: I was trying to get the child married AFTER the child moved out - apparently the son or daughter must marry WHILE STILL IN THE HOUSEHOLD. Try that and see if it works for you.

  • Make sense. He moved out for his wedding. Also, he was adopted. Do you think it have to do with it? I will try to marry with someone else on the same lot, while they live together. Thank you for your feedback!

@ScreenName000001 Yes both the parent and the child have to be in your active household at the time the child marries for it to count towards the aspiration. The adoption aspect should not matter.
