Body Scars/Hair options not showing up unless creating a Mermaid in Mer form

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.90.375.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? High School Years, Cottage Living, Snowy Escape, Eco Lifestyle, Discover University, Island Living, Get Famous, Seasons, Cats and Dogs, City Living, Get Together, Get To Work, Werewolves, My Wedding Stories, Dream Home Decorator, Journey To Batuu, Realm of Magic, Strangervillle, Jungle Adventure, Parenthood, Vampires, Dine Out, Spa Day, Outdoor Retreat, Paranormal, Tiny Living, Moschino, My First Pet, Laundry Day, Fitness, Bowling Night, Vintage Glamour, Backyard Stuff, Kids Room, Romantic Garden, Movie Hangout, Spooky, Cool Kitchen, Perfect Patio.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I honestly don't know.
What happens when the bug occurs? Right from the start, there has been no body scars or body hair options even when creating a brand new sim, except for when making a Mermaid sim and then only when they are in their Mer form. The category's just aren't showing up for human forms or any other form except Mermaid forms. There's body presets, and tattoos and that's it. No back hair, arm hair, leg hair, chest hair, or body scars none of those options are available for anyone/anything else.
What do you expect to see? Body Scars/Body Hair categories showing up when creating or editing sims.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Bought Werewolves and High School Years and installed them.

I have no body scars or body hair categories unless making a Mermaid sim and then only when they are in their mermaid form. It  doesn't matter whether I'm making a werewolf sim, a human, anyone else other than a mermaid, the options to even look at the scars/body hair just aren't there.

I DO use mods but this is most definitely not a mod issue as my partner has the exact same problem. He has a completely vanilla game, on a separate computer, has never used a single mod or piece of CC and still isn't using any now and since we bought this pack we have both encountered this issue. And seeing as we are as I say on totally different computers and his game has never once been modded it's not anything to do with my CC or Mods.

I don't know what to do.

  • HI @BelovedPoison

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.
