Broken computer has no repair interaction available

I'm in the same boat. No option to repair the computer, just hire repair service and scavenge for parts. When you hire the repair service they show up but immediately leave and say there's nothing to be repaired.

It is the milton word processor and it's accessible to the sims. It had gotten the ECC RAM upgrade to make it less likely to break.
