Burnt sims after infant update

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.96.365.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get to Work, Get Together, City Living, Cats & Dogs, Seasons, Get Famous, Island Living, Discover University, Eco Lifestyle, Snowy Escape, Cottage Living, High School Years, Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, Dine Out, Vampires, Parenthood, Jungle Adventure, StrangerVille, Realm of Magic, Journey to Batuu, Dream Home Decorator, My Wedding Stories, Werewolves, Perfect Patio Stuff, Romantic Garden Stuff, Kids Room Stuff, Vintage Glamour Stuff, Toddler Stuff, Laundry Day Stuff, My First Pet Stuff, Moschino Stuff, Tiny Living Stuff, Nifty Knitting Stuff, Paranormal Stuff, Country Kitchen Kit, Industrial Loft Kit, Desert Luxe Kit, Holiday Celebration Pack
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Couldn't tell you. I was just playing normally.
What happens when the bug occurs? Suddenly all sims in the household become singed(?) (Like after a sim has been in a fire) despite no fire happening. Neither changing clothes nor bathing fixes it.
What do you expect to see? Sims to not be randomly burnt.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The infant mod just installed.

To make a short report long, I was playing normally, a single father and his infant daughter and suddenly, as they were playing on the floor of the living room, both of them become burnt like there's a fire. No fire was happening on the lot, and the sims were acting and playing as normal, but neither bathing nor changing their outfits fixed their appearance. Unfortunately I don't have any screenshots, it didn't occur to me to take screenshots before I exited the game to see what the version was, though upon re-entering the save, the burnt appearance has fixed itself.

@crinrict Nope. None of my mods are CAS related and when playing I didn't have any mods in my game at all.

@Robin7808 Could have been some glitch because of the skin tone changes. It hasn't happened again after the reload, right ?

@crinrict Possibly, but I haven't had it happen before now, only since the infant update, which I know isn't very long. I literally loaded up the game as soon as it installed, then a while after playing the burnt happened. I left for the menu for the version and then loaded back into the save and it was fixed, but I haven't played enough time after that to say it won't happen again.
  • I had a similar issue last night. Working in a save of a large family with a butler, the butler appeared burnt. I thought he had been struck by lightning as it had been raining. I did not witness if this was the case or not. What I do know is that several days later the butler still had not showered, so for several sim days he appeared burnt. When my sim returned from doing a Home Decorator gig, the butler was cleaned up. I don't know if shutting the game down or going into another save, or taking a trip off lot will do the same things. I did not test further. I was just happy to see the butler cleaned.

  • (ps4) Every time my sims return home from school/work/daycare they turn black. Not like they’re filthy but like they’ve been struck by lightning. Taking a shower solves this for the adult sim and the two children in the household but no amount of baths will solve this for the toddler. Has anyone else had this issue or know what caused it?
