I'm also getting this. I realise these pop ups are a feature of the game but it's very annoying that I can't have my sim succeed in the business career without being corrupt.
EDIT: My sim is set to "Stay Out of Spotlight" but still received fame upon turning over the papers and is now a "Notable Newcomer"
I've had this problem for quite a long while. I always end up just giving up on the business career and picking the salaryperson career as it's visually similar (still would rather put them in business career as the salaryperson career is very much oriented to a Japanese style business in the way it's run rather than the more western style of the business career which suits this particular sim more). I've had the Dirty Money chance card pop up on literally every attempt which must number well into the twenties by now. Would be nice if there was a third option that ran something like "Leave this to someone else to deal with." where your sim plops the evidence, as if by chance, on a co-worker's desk who has more standing in the company than them and so is far less dispensible. Then later on they hear around the watercooler that those executives have been fired and the co-worker who blew the whistle on them is receiving many pats on the back and celebrations in their honor, maybe leaving your sim feeling a temporary jealousy buff of "That coulda been me." But at least they get to keep their job and have a better moral standing.
