Just chiming in that this is still an issue.
I keep getting the pop-up the day after my first promotion.
Guess I'll break character so I can do the path, but feels bad. (Maybe a little too realistic?)
Figure by saying something, maybe someone will remember to take a look at this. Seems like it should be a fairly easy fix.
Still an issue in 2023 it seems, it seems this is a pre-determined event no matter what.
1st time around, handed in the papers and got fired, 2nd time got promoted and got the same pop-up again, same outcome. Tried a 3rd time and same set of circumstances occurred, doesn't feel right to "lose the papers" as that will go against being a morally good sim.
Doubt this will ever get changes how, EA/Maxis hardly seem to fix stuff like this from what I read, so just be sure to buy that next expansion for €40.
