Okay I think I figured it out....
As you can see with the bottom one the bar counters have no problem lining up correctly.
Now on the top they will line up if I put them backwards, but as you can see when placed facing forward they are pushed back.

oh P.S . for the bottom one there is a corner piece if you wish to place that instead of the island counter or the other counter type let me see if recall right
in build mode-counters turn off auto counter hover the mouse over the counter of your choice and click on any of the color swatch and there you'll see corner counters and end counters rounded corners OH and the same for cabinets too
